TARGET (Troponin in Acute chest pain to Risk stratify and Guide EffecTive use of Computed Tomography Coronary Angiography) is a study which aims to establish whether the use of CTCA in patients with raised troponins (in whom Acute MI has been excluded) improves overall outcomes. It also aims to determine whether this approach is safe and cost-effective, thereby allowing us to explore CTCA as a viable alternative to more invasive investigations. This would allow for a more pleasant and efficient patient journey towards diagnosis and management of Coronary Artery Disease, and reduce the cost and time burden necessary to perform Coronary Angiograms.
