Dr Nicola Littlewood
Nicola graduated from Glasgow University in 1999. After spending a couple of years in the antipodes in the Gold Coast and Christchurch EDs she completed her EM training in the WOS in 2009.
A Consultant in EM and Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine, Nicola has worked for EMRS since 2005, first as a registrar and then as a Consultant. She is currently training programme director for PHEM training in Scotland – a unique scheme she gained GMC approval for and runs with London HEMS.
In 2015, Nicola became the audit lead for the new QEUH and subsequently QI. She has been involved on a number of projects presented nationally such as the code red pre-hospital blood project and always events. Nicola is on the RCEM quality and audit committee and in 2017 was the lead author on the RCEM national asthma audit. Currently working on a patient flow project, Nicola is passionate about the use of audit and QI to improve patient care and safety.
