Jonny has been an Emergency Medicine consultant in Glasgow since 2005 initially at the Victoria Infirmary and more recently at the QEUH since its opening in 2015.
Within the QEUH ED Jonny leads on Ultrasound – teaching the Level 1 / Core curriculum course as well as being the Regional Coordinator for EM US for the West of Scotland. He is a Consultant Appraiser and HST Educational supervisor, working as part of the Postgraduate Training Committee in Emergency Medicine for over 10 years.
His other interests include sports medicine and he was the Deputy Chief Medical Officer at Glasgow’s 2014 Commonwealth Games. He has worked as the Scotland Mens A football team doctor since 2010 and is the author and course director of the UEFA Football Doctor Education programme. He has published 2 books on sports medicine – the Oxford textbook “Emergencies in Sports Medicine” and the most recently published “Encyclopaedia of Football Medicine”.
